 研究领域:
 

  1)遗迹化石:促进了中生代浅海遗迹化石的分类和古生态学发展,并提出了遗迹化石分类的重要原则。

  2)中生代底栖大型无脊椎动物的古生态学:丰富了我们对影响中生代底栖无脊椎动物分布的因素的认识,并对其在重建古环境上的应用进行了详细的解析;促进了我们对中生代浅海生态系统的了解;揭示了中生代海洋边缘环境中大型动物群与盐度之间的关系。

  3)盆地分析:应用综合分析的方法来推演印度和伊朗地区沉积盆地的演化历史。

  4)埋葬学:应用具骨骼生物的埋葬信息来推测现生和化石壳体富集层的形成,并证明此类方法在古环境重建中的实用性。

  5)纹层发育沉积中的特异埋葬:对特异埋葬在纹层发育沉积中的化石进行了研究分析,推测其形成的过程。

  6)侏罗纪大型无脊椎动物的分类学(主要是双壳类,兼珊瑚和腹足):系统研究了大量来自欧洲、格林兰和印度的大型无脊椎动物化石,为进一步的古生态学和生物古地理学研究提供基础。

  7)古生代腕足类的古生态学:揭示了控制古生代腕足类分布的因素。首次发现其取食器官的复杂性控制着古生代腕足类的分布模式。

  8)硬底构造:描述并分析了欧洲的中生代硬底构造情况,对其成因及控制因素进行了研究。

  过去多年来研究的主题一直是结合沉积学、古生态学、埋葬学和遗迹学工具把古生物学的数据信息应用到古环境的分析中。
