  中国科学院南京地质古生物研究所副所长、研究员、博士生导师。1983年毕业于南京大学地质系,1992年获南京古生物所博士学位并留所工作,先后任助理研究员、副研究员、研究员。1997年至1999年,日本学术振兴会博士后(日本福冈大学地球圈科学系客座研究员)。1999年入选中国科学院百人计划并获引进海外杰出人才2005年获得国家自然科学基金委“杰出青年基金”资助,新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选。

主要学术成绩:

  完善石炭纪-二叠纪全球性和区域性年代地层系统,作为参与者在中国广西建立了二叠系乐平统底界金钉子;识别出四射珊瑚的多样性演替与晚古生代古环境变迁密切相关;在东特提斯地区识别出可能与晚古生代冰期有关的旋回性沉积特征;恢复滇西泛冈瓦纳各个微板块的演化历史。发表学术论著100多篇(部)。

研究兴趣:

  石炭纪年代地层学及GSSP(金钉子)研究;晚古生代大冰期及环境变化;晚古生代珊瑚化石生物学和古生态学;晚古生代古生物多样性;泛冈瓦纳和古特提斯古生物地层学等。 

目前的研究重点

  1. 石炭-二叠纪大冰期华南的生物多样性变化及古环境。

  2. 石炭纪生物地层学和年代地层学。

  3. 晚古生代珊瑚化石系统古生物学。
